WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
The Cherry Lane Alternative presents the New York premiere of 50 Minutes with Harriet and Phillis, a theatrical collage of words, dance, and music. Pulitzer Prize-winning writer Margo Jefferson and performer Francesca Harper join forces with writer/musician Paul D. Miller to create this work-in-progress, appropriated and re-mixed from sources as diverse as the 18th century African-American poet Phillis Wheatley, German philosopher/poet Friedrich Nietzsche, and Hollywood films of the 1940s.
