Emanuele Nigro will star in I Fioretti in Musica- Opera in Danza (Little Flowers in Music, an Opera in Dance), to be presented in the Ellen Stewart Theater at La MaMa E.T.C., September 30-October 17.

The interdisciplinary opera imagines St. Francis (played by Nigro) as a character in modern New York with polyphonic and medieval music, electro-acoustic music, puppetry and art.

The production will be performed by La Compagnia Teatrale I Pionieri dell'Est (Pioneers Go East Co.). Libretto, concept, direction, and design is by Gian Marco Lo Forte, with music composed by Ryan Carter and Sasha Zamler-Carhart.
