Project Shaw's staged reading of Androcles and the Lion, at The Players on Monday, January 24 at 7pm, will feature an all-critic cast. David Staller will direct.

One of Shaw's most beloved of absurd light comedies, the story follows a group of Christians faced with a horrible death in the Roman Coliseum. Based on Aesop's most famous of Fables, Shaw gives it his unique twist, incorporating his passionate plea for human rights and the importance of tolerance.

TheaterMania editor-in-chief Brian Scott Lipton, associate editor Andy Propst, and contributors Peter Filichia and David Finkle will be among the participants. The cast will also include David Belcher, David Cote, Frank DiLella, Joe Dziemianowicz, Michael Feingold, Adam Feldman, Michael Musto, Patrick Pacheco, Michael Riedel, Michael Schulman, David Sheward, Raven Snook, Roma Torre, Elizabeth Vincentelli, and Jason Zinoman.
