WHAT IS IT ABOUT?

PUBLIC FORUM: WHO LOST AMERICA

How Our Politics and Culture Have Changed In The 10 Years Since Bush v. Gore

Monday, November 15 at 8PM

Last month, The Public's exciting new series THE PUBLIC FORUM kicked off to a standing room only crowd in the Martinson Theater where artists and thinkers the likes of Sam Waterston, Suzan-Lori Parks, Anne Hathaway and Arianna Huffington converged on the set of GATZ to discuss the nation's current troubles and how they affect the American Dream.

THE PUBLIC FORUM follows its spectacular premiere with "Who Lost America?", coinciding with The Public's current production of Lisa Kron's IN THE WAKE. During this exciting evening, leading voices from across the political spectrum and the arts will consider how our society has changed in the decade since Bush v. Gore, and what we can do to fix what ails us today.

Featuring playwright Lisa Kron, Hendrik Hertzberg (The New Yorker) and Sam Tanenhaus (New York Times Book Review), the provocative conversation will be hosted by Public Theater Artistic Director Oskar Eustis. The evening will close with a special performance by Michael Cerveris (King Lear and Stephen Sondheim's Road Show at The Public) and members of The Civilians of songs about our nation from Michael Friedman, the gifted composer/lyricist of Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson, which is now playing at Broadway's Jacobs Theater.
