WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
"A fix of urban adrenaline that makes you feel that pulse-raising magic"
-Ben Brantley, The New York Times
In Traces, the human body is pushed to its limits as a group of friends leave their mark in a run-down warehouse through acrobatics, music, and dance. Fusing the traditions of circus with the energy of street performance, Traces is an explosive display of raw emotion and physicality in an intimate urban setting.

RE:TRACES ~ a must see!
Mason, Valerie, Mathieu, Bradley, Philippe, Xia and Florian~seven performers, one grand, breath-taking, ninety-minute show I will not forget in a very long time~high energy, highly entertaining acrobatics, wonderfully paced performance, incredible showmanship; music that complements the theme of the show, "If the world ended tomorrow, what would you leave behind?" and the precision of a Swiss clock under the direction and choreography of Shana Carroll and Gypsy Snider. TRACES is a must see. There is nothing in this show you will not love; you enjoy yourself because the artists enjoy themselves and that is highly contagious. One thing more, the simplicity with which they do their stuff, makes you feel as if you can get up there, join them and do it, too. Please, do not attempt what you see, it is art, making the difficult look easy; none of it is easy but very entertaining.

Daring acrobatic feats and a youthful joie de vivre are the hallmarks of Traces, the enormously entertaining show from Canadian troupe Les 7 Doigts de la Main/7 Fingers, now at the Union Square Theatre for a limited run.
A high level of excitement abounds from the moment these talented performers hit the stage in a series of high-flying kicks, jumps, spins, lifts, and tumbles. The routines, directed and choreographed by Shana Carroll and Gypsy Snider, fuse circus with modern dance and a street-level sensibility that has the troupe fooling around with basketballs or skateboards one minute, and literally jumping through hoops or climbing poles the next.
