WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
After a sensational appearance at last summer's Just For Laughs Montreal International Comedy Festival, Irish phenomenon Tommy Tiernan took the states by storm with a successful New York City run in Fall 2004. Most recently, Tiernan earned raves in Los Angeles in a critically acclaimed run of his latest show Loose earlier this spring. The Los Angeles Times hailed him as "A Gaelic Eddie Izzard!" and Variety observed, "A terrific storyteller. Watching a comic like this makes one wish American standups had Tiernan's facility and affection for language."
Hilarious, wild, fearless, and smart, Tommy Tiernan's ferocious style of comedy has brought him international acclaim. Winner of both the Perrier Award and British Comedy Award for "Best Stand-Up" with his 1998 debut solo show, he continues his interrogation of the big ideas - sex, religion and family.

Tommy Tiernan moves like a chicken who's had a few drinks. In his yellow T-shirt, striped pants, and plimsols, the 37-year-old Irish comeidan skitters around the stage of the Actor's Playhouse in his often hilarious new show, Loose, with arms on the move and fingers waving, as if he's got some lowdown about the disposition of the sky.
Tiernan also has the look of a non-fundamentalist Mel Gibson. He has a couple days' growth of beard, flashing blue eyes, and a smile replete with a set of teeth that any orthodontist would be proud to say he'd helped produce.
