WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
Classic Stage Company continues its 37th season with a radical revisionist production of Anton Chekhov's Three Sisters, staged by acclaimed Slovak director Pavol Liska, in association with his company Nature Theater of Oklahoma. This production kicks off an exciting new series at CSC - On the Verge - dedicated to promoting the work of emerging directors, performers, and innovative companies. Liska, a native of Slovakia, has gained a significant amount of attention in New York from his high-energy productions at venues such as Performance Space 122, Theater for the New City and the Ontological-Hysteric Theatre. To celebrate the launch of On the Verge, CSC's new series to support emerging artists, the rock band BRAVO SILVA will storm the stage of CSC for two nights only, playing their original pop-rock mix immediately following the THREE SISTERS performances on January 7 and 8. The music of BRAVO SILVA is featured in the movie, The Manchurian Candidate (2004), and they have recently performed in New York at Rothko, Pianos, Galapagos and The Knitting Factory. Named from a line in The Seagull, BRAVO SILVA describes their sound as "rock music made in the spirit of Chekhov." Tickets for the January 7 and January 8 shows featuring both Three Sisters and BRAVO SILVA are $20, cash only. Tickets for just the BRAVO SILVA show are $8, cash only.
