Willow Cabin Theatre Company presents The Odyssey, a stage version of Homer's epic verse by Nobel Prize-winner Derek Walcott. With an ensemble of sixteen actors and three musicians, the production tells the story of one man's journey to return to his home, family and peace after 20 years of war and wandering. Walcott's adaptation was commissioned and originally presented by The Royal Shakespeare Company in 1992. As in most of his work, Walcott's West-Indian heritage is evident in his treatment of the Homeric verse in which mythical Mediterranean meets contemporary Caribbean.
