WHAT IS IT ABOUT?

Adam Rapp's The Metal Children is a timely drama about a New York writer (Billy Crudup), and his explosive encounter with a small American town that he travels to in order to defend one of his young adult novels, which has been banned by the local school board. The controversy ignites heated emotions over religious beliefs and censorship.

Fans of filmmaker David Lynch might take particular interest in Adam Rapp's
The Metal Children, now receiving its world premiere at the Vineyard Theatre, under Rapp's assured direction. This engrossing new play has a similar feel to Lynch's landmark television drama, Twin Peaks, with eccentric characters, unexplained mystical phenomena, hidden secrets, and a surreal atmosphere that suffuses the entire work.

The cast was phenomenal, especially Billy Crudup and his mesmerizing perfromance! !Susan Blommaert was also a highlight of the show.
