WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
Jean Cocteau Repertory continues its 30th anniversary season with this story of love, prejudice, and money by William Shakespeare. A comedy with serious overtones, The Merchant of Venice centers on Shylock, a Jewish money-lender, and Portia, a young heiress. The story culminates in a dramatic courtroom scene. Eve Adamson directs.
