Synopsis
Written and directed by Roger Bean, The Marvelous Wonderettes is described as a "cotton-candy colored non-stop pop musical," the show features the iconic sounds of the fifties and beyond in a journey back to the 1958 Springfield High School prom where the Wonderettes -- Betty Jean, Cindy Lou, Missy and Suzy -- are four young girls with hopes and dreams as big as their crinoline skirts.
Songs include "Lollipop," "Dream Lover," "Stupid Cupid," "Lipstick on Your Collar," "Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me," "It's My Party" and "It's In His Kiss (The Shoop Shoop Song)."
The show earned an Ovation Award (Best Musical in an Intimate Theatre) and LADCC Awards for Best Choreography and Ensemble in its run at Los Angeles' El Portal Theatre.
Beginning on Wednesday, December 10 through Monday, December 22, adults who purchase a
regularly-priced ticket (through the special code MAKIDS01) to see The Marvelous
Wonderettes (redeemable for dates December 22 to January 4) are eligible to receive a free ticket for an accompanying child age 16 and younger.

This is such a fun show. The set is brightly decorated, the costumes are cute and the singers are full of energy and great songs. You cant help but snap your fingers, rock to the doo wop and sing along. Young and old will get a great kick out this show.

Review: Thoroughly Enjoyable! by merylrc
I attended the afternoon matinee with four friends. We were totally entertained by four lovely ladies with wonderful voices, The story line weaves itself cleverly around songs of the 50s and 60s and we all left smiling. What a fun afternoon! We all highly recommend this show and if you are from this era, you will love it even more!
