WHAT IS IT ABOUT?

Written and directed by Roger Bean, The Marvelous Wonderettes is described as a "cotton-candy colored non-stop pop musical," the show features the iconic sounds of the fifties and beyond in a journey back to the 1958 Springfield High School prom where the Wonderettes -- Betty Jean, Cindy Lou, Missy and Suzy -- are four young girls with hopes and dreams as big as their crinoline skirts.

Songs include "Lollipop," "Dream Lover," "Stupid Cupid," "Lipstick on Your Collar," "Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me," "It's My Party" and "It's In His Kiss (The Shoop Shoop Song)."

The show earned an Ovation Award (Best Musical in an Intimate Theatre) and LADCC Awards for Best Choreography and Ensemble in its run at Los Angeles' El Portal Theatre.

Beginning on Wednesday, December 10 through Monday, December 22, adults who purchase a
regularly-priced ticket (through the special code MAKIDS01) to see The Marvelous
Wonderettes (redeemable for dates December 22 to January 4) are eligible to receive a free ticket for an accompanying child age 16 and younger.

Marvelous Wonderettes
Good fun, excellent cast and lots of songs which we, at least were old enough to know the words and even the opening bars. OK, the plot isnt Shakespeare and the songs are hung from it with a bit of a thin cord but if you take it as a bit of fun the girls work hard to deliver. Definitely worth your while to go.

Will leave you singing
Threadbare plot, but a fun night of great voices and classic 50s and 60s pop. My sister and I went for a laugh one Saturday night and we cant wait to bring our mom. If you like your girl groups and rock and roll, a must see.
