WHAT IS IT ABOUT?

Internationally renowned theater and opera director Deborah Warner creates The Angel Project, her site-specific performance installation, especially for New York City and Lincoln Center Festival 2003.

Designed as a solitary experience, The Angel Project is both a physical journey and a journey of the imagination. When you experience it, you will travel to several locations in the city. The duration of your experience depends on your pace and may take approximately two to three hours.

You MUST have your ticket and specific starting location directions prior to your arrival at the event. Specific directions to the starting location on Roosevelt Island will be provided with your ticket.

WHAT ARE CRITICS SAYING?

In Deborah Warner's production of The Angel Project in New York, presented by the Lincoln Center Festival, you are the main character, the actor who plays the character, and the understudy all in one. But that descriptions is, perhaps, deceptive: New York City itself is the real star of this show.

Essentially a walking/subway/golf cart tour through the city, the project takes the participant from location to location, where rooms and whole floors of buildings have been prepared by the director and installation designer Tom Pye for the viewer's experience.
