WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
Written by Teresa Deevy, Temporal Powers tells the moving story of a great love straining under the weight of conflicting passions. Desperate and destitute, Michael and Min Powers take refuge for the night in a crumbling ruin. Buried within the walls could be the answer to their prayers--money for a fresh start--if only they could agree to use it. What follows is a fierce moral struggle that no one can win.
Deevy's explosive drama won First Prize in the new play competition held by the Abbey Theatre in 1932.

Questions of spirituality and basic human survival swirl around a troubled marriage in Teresa Deevy's Temporal Powers, at the Mint Theatre Company. The production, gently guided by Jonathan Bank and beautifully performed by a fine ensemble, is the second in the company's ongoing efforts to reinvestigate the work of this long-neglected Irish playwright, and as with last year's Wife to James Whelan, theatergoers will most likely find themselves surprised how exceptionally contemporary Deevy's writing is.
