WHAT IS IT ABOUT?

Adamanto Productions in association with Liebman Entertainment present the U.S. premiere of Stitching -- a twisted, intricate drama that keeps you on the edge of your seat, by British playwright Anthony Neilson. Timothy Haskell directs.

Stu and Abby love each other so madly, they're driving each other crazy. Stitching follows the increasingly disturbing and inventive games the couple plays in order to connect. As they circle and test each other, they role-play with reality and fantasy to the point where even they don't seem sure what is real anymore. When Abby discovers she's pregnant, the choices they make will haunt them forever. The visceral poetry and physicality between the lovers creates a surprisingly tender, often humorous, brutal romance. Stitching challenges the notions of modern romance in an increasingly complex world.

amazing theatre
The stage at its best does more than simply entertain. It can provoke, unsettle and, ultimately, reveal. Stitching is just such theatre. We cannot help but be fascinated voyeurs at the psychic drama played out in Stu and Abbys stormy, at times disturbed relationship. This is powerful theatre. It is not meant to be "nice". It is meant to stimulate. And it succeeds.
