Fiercely creative composer-pianist Vijay Iyer (Rising Star Jazz Artist & Composer of the Year, Down Beat) joins post-hip-hop poet Mike Ladd and conceptual artist Ibrahim Quraishi to probe the effects of wartime media. Viscerally staged, Still Life with Commentator repurposes Jon Stewart as a heroic action figure, bloggers as the new lyric poets, and news culture as our most cherished addiction, to create a new and hyper-relevant musical and visual experience.
