WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
In the spirit of Tim Burton and Edward Gorey comes this hilariously gruesome and wildly acclaimed musical staging of the classic 19th Century children's book Sturwwelpeter (Slovenly Peter). Deliciously morbid, occasionally chiling, and entirely unique, Shockheaded Peter illuminates Heinrich Hoffman's cautionary tales and his horrible cast of disobedient children with a whimsical combination of grand guignol, puppetry, and Victorian melodrama.
Thursday night performances are at 10pm. All seats are $29.00.

If you think the Grimm fairy tales are creepy, you should see what old Dr. Heinrich Hoffman dreamed up for Struwwelpeter. That's the 1845 book of short stories on which Shockheaded Peter, now playing Off-Broadway at the Little Shubert, is based. Hoffman's twisted tales of wayward children meeting their doom is the stuff of nightmares -- and, occasionally, pretty good comedy. It all depends on your sensibilities.
