Directions & MapWHAT IS IT ABOUT?
Science Fair is an opera singer's love-song to the scientific worldview and the scientists who practice and promote it. Conceived and performed by mezzo-soprano Hai-Ting Chinn, Science Fair consists of actual scientific texts turned into art-songs by various new-music composers. Each song is sonically tied to a live scientific demonstration, and they are strung together as a staged cycle that uses both elegance and humor to illuminate the processes of science. Science Fair will be presented on a shared bill with Stefan Weisman and David Cote's Scarlet Ibis. Both pieces are being part of HERE Arts Center's CULTUREMART 2012.
