WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
From the Tony Award-nominated and Olivier Award-winning creative team behind the Broadway smash hit Stones in His Pockets comes the world premiere of Rock Doves, written by Marie Jones and directed by Ian McElhinney.
Set in Belfast - a thriving city now that the "troubles" are over - the play centers around four wild and colorful characters as they try to navigate the "new" Northern Ireland - Knacker, a homeless squatter; Bella, an aging prostitute; Lillian, a middle-aged transvestite; and a teenager who still believes he is fighting the war. In Marie Jones' signature comedic style, Rock Doves is both hilarious and poignant, offering a portrait of modern Ireland that celebrates the resilience and humanity of people battered by the war - and forgotten by the peace process.
