WHAT ARE CRITICS SAYING?

As the play opens, workaholic attorney Judy (Julianne Nicholson) and stay-at-home dad and author Michael (James Waterston) are mid-argument about the snippy victory song their 10-year-old daughter Jessica has improvised after winning a game of Clue. Michael's furious about it and his anger's only been compounded by the fact that Judy spent an hour with the girl in her room after the familial altercation. RE:Parents Evening
This is definitely a show for our times. I would think that very many people who see this will recognize aspects of their own lives. The acting duo very cleverly and accurately reflect the life/work imbalance and the frictions and fractiousness which arise from seemingly trivial events. The script is concise and tight and the more emotional husband and his long-suffering and hard working wife form an explosive mixture as they deal with their own and their unseen daughters tribulations. This is worth seeing for good tight well-acted and directed theater.
