Synopsis

Niece of the Legendary Carmen Amaya

"A savvy and Sophisticated choreographer… I dare anyone to take
his or her eyes off Omayra Amaya when she is performing the flamenco
she was born to dance… a knockout."  Debra Cash, The Boston Globe

The title refers to a post-dinner hour when Spaniards
like to linger at the table to talk, drink coffee and be together with
family
and friends. Omayra translates this moment into dance guided by fluent,
skillfully balanced choregraphy that develops in waves and wavelets,
swelling and subsiding in the choppy seas of human emotions.

Jasmina Wellinghoff of the San Antonio Express in praise of the
Performance,  "When the lights came on, the entire group of 7 was
arranged
around a table in complete stillness like a sculpture.  Eventually
various
dialogues, one-on-one encounters and personal dramas developed, the
intensity grew, and before we knew it, we held our breath=2
0in constant
anticipation and wonder."

                   La Sobremesa
An exciting show full of surprises, with inspiring music and enticing
rhythms
and choreography that will intensify and rise to a climax taking the
audience on
a journey not soon forgotten. The show contains traditional and
contemporary flamenco
music and dance.
