WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
S.N. Behrman?s 1939 comedy with a conscience, No Time for Comedy, follows playwright Gaylord Easterbrook as he struggles with his wife, an actress in need of her next role; the ?other woman,? who hopes to inspire in him a higher, more serious artistry; and his own misgivings about writing comedy with ?the horrors of life pressing in daily all around us.?
