WHAT IS IT ABOUT?

York's popular "Musicals in Mufti" series brings Broadway's underappreciated treasures to life as staged concerts that allow the shows to be seen on their own merits. "Mufti" means "in street clothes; without the usual trappings." And that's how these shows are presented - for just five performances each. By Jupiter April 5,6,7 Only Jupiter knows - and the show's co-bookwriters, Richard Rodgers & Lorenz Hart - who also created the delightful score. Originally directed by George Abbot. Broadway Premiere: 1942 Androcles & the Lion April 12,13,14 Richard Rodgers wrote his own lyrics for this Peter Stone adaptation of the George Bernard Shaw classic for a television special in 1967. Me & Juliet April 19,20,21 Richard Rodgers & Oscar Hammerstein's love letter to The Great White Way.
