WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
Written by Ken Davenport (Altar Boyz, My First Time, The Awesome 80s Prom) and Sarah Saltzberg (25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee), Miss Abigail's Guide to Dating, Mating, & Marriage is based on Abigail Grotke's popular book--the comedy's namesake--that promises "classic advice for contemporary dilemmas." Davenport directs as Miss Abigail takes you back to a simpler time, before booty calls and speed-dating, back when the divorce rate wasn't 50 percent and "Fidelity" was more than an investment firm.

RE:Such a fun show!
My husband and I saw the show and it was the best date weve had in a long time. We were so close to the stage! I grew up on The Brady Bunch, and Eve Plumb was great. The whole show was cute and funny and there was a lot of audience involvement that was fun to see. The overall story was adorable and the advice books from the 50s were hilarious. It was great to have the romance and be able to laugh about it too.

Miss Abigail's Guide to Dating, Mating, & Marriage, now at Sofia's Restaurant Downstairs Theatre, co-authors Sarah Saltzberg and Ken Davenport have created a nifty incarnation for its title character (based on the outdated advice book by Abigail Grotke): a relationship expert who is remarkably prim and proper, who lives out of books written for women searching for love before feminism existed, and who spews silly advice on all of her favorite topics.
Unfortunately, the show's over-reliance on audience participation and a somewhat monotonous performance by star Eve Plumb (best known as Jan from The Brady Bunch) undercut the evening's potential for embracing this unusual woman.
