WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
Mary Todd... A Woman Apart is about one of the most visible and notable first lady's in American history. Filled with tragedy and triumph, this daughter of the aristocracy was celebrated for her character, wit and courage, but suffered from the murder of her husband and the death of her favorite son, and then humiliated by another when he had her committed for insanity. This compelling drama captures the haunted Mary Todd as she earnestly articulates her free fall while desperately seeking solace. Although released four-months after her committal, the question of Mary Todd's "sanity" is the subject of speculation to this day.
