Belgium's Pantalone makes its U.S. debut with a symphony for the senses entitled Luna/Penguin. First with the Slovakian folk tale, Luna of the Tree, and then with the Japanese poem, My Heart is a Peguin, Pantalone transforms the art of storytelling into a swirling fantasia of music, film and theater. As an on-stage orchestra plays an original score and vivid images dance across an upstage movie screen, a narrator recounts the captivating tale of romance, mystery and greed in Luna of the Tree. In My Heart is a Penguin, the stage is transformed into a tranquil pool of water where a narrator and string ensemble sit atop giant floating hearts. Set against a backdrop of ever-changing illustrations, they reveal a philosophical journey of a tiny penguin that is searching for the courage to dive into a sea of uncertainties.
