WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
Love in a Fallen City recreates the dichotomies of Hong Kong/Shanghai, traditional/modern, family values/individual freedom, and how historical twists and turns change destinies. The two lovers Bai Liusu (played by Louisa So) and Fan Liuyuan (played by Tony Leung) met during interesting times, and their love story unfolded amidst the strife and suffering of the Second World War. Fredric Mao directs. Love in a Fallen City blends drama, music and dance and is based on an original novella by legendary writer Eileen Chang.
