I think one has to be very aware all the time of the period during which this play takes place. Much of the dialogue is quite period in nature. The acting and the staging are good. Perhaps some of the declamatory monologues directed towards unseen students are a bit superfluous and not every character evokes much sympathy but it is an interesting and not unenjoyable experience.
