WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
Signature Theatre Company presents the final production of its 1999/2000 season devoted to the works of playwright Maria Irene Fornes. LETTERS FROM CUBA written and directed by Fornes deals directly for the first time with her rich Cuban heritage. The play draws from over 200 letters the playwright received over a thirty-year period from her brother in Havana. Taking place simultaneously in New York and Cuba, fragments from the letters are woven into the story of the relationship between a brother and a sister, their artistic rapport, their two worlds and the faith they have in the value of their artistic labors.-dlm

Her plays aren't always accessible, like her a[...]
