WHAT IS IT ABOUT?

Pan Asian Rep presents the world premiere of Ernest Abuba's Kwatz! The Sound of a Hammer Hitting the Head, directed by Pan Asian Rep
founder/director Tisa Chang.

"Kwatz!" is the exclamatory cry which in Buddhist tradition means an "awakening," in this case for Tibetan immigrant Dorje, who is
randomly attacked with a hammer in New York City. He enters a comatose state, in which he travels through his past and present existences. The new work by noted actor/playwright Abuba will also incorporate original Tibetan music and contemporary sounds as well as stylized movement.
