WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
Citizens are jailed and a writ of habeas corpus denied. The leader pushes through draconian laws. Dissent becomes unpatriotic. Julius Caesar passionately dramatizes questions of democracy vs. dictatorship, patriotism and dissent, and class and civil war not as simple abstractions, but as complex human relationships. Karin Coonrad directs, with Earl Hindman in the title role.
The opening night performance begins at 6:00pm.There are no performances on Jan 21, 22, 23, 28, 29, Feb 4 or 5.There are two evening performances at 7:00 pm on Feb 16 and 23.

In the program for the Theatre for a New Audience (TFANA) production of Shakespeare's Julius Caesar, there is a quote from actor Daniel Oreskes in which he poses a question as it might have been voiced by his character Cassius in regard to the events of the play: "Did we do the wrong thing, or did we do the right thing the wrong way?" This is a succinct synopsis of Julius Caesar, a work that is best described in questions because it offers no answers.
