WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
The 10th Anniversary of the Japanese Contemporary Dance Showcase in New York makes a special appearance at The Joyce Theater. Dedicated to Japan's top contemporary dance companies, this event has drawn enthusiastic and loyal audiences to the Japan Society for the last nine years. This celebratory season features four of the most popular and talented companies from prior showcases and Japan's current dance scene; pure physical estheticism of Noism 07, genre-bending performances by Pappa Tarahumara, the wry emotional depth from Kim Itoh and the Glorious Future, and the dissociative multimedia collages of Leni Basso.
