In the Daylight

Great show!

This dark play has an outstanding cast who challenge you to either love or loathe their characters. And depending on which side youre on, youll likewise either be satisfied or angry at the ending. Even if youre angry, thats ok -- because it means you felt something! Theres lot of dialogue, but it never drags. It can get pretty intense at times, so be prepared.

Amazing Show

This show was simply wonderful. Such a great evening spent at the theatre, The writing was extremely clever and hilarious and the cast was impeccable. I highly suggest doing yourself a favor and hitting up the upper west side for this piece of non-stop entertainment.

In the Daylight

We thoroughly enjoyed our evening in the second row! The set continued to mesmerize me with its almost Escher-esque style and stark elegance. The cast was supurb delivering their lines with snap precision! The story that unfolded kept us rapt with interest but the highlight for me was when Ashley Austin Morris as Charlotte Fontaine, blew in with the hurricane that was pounding at the door! She had our attention even when others were talking! The twists and turns of the story and the snappy, HILARIOUS dialogue kept us rapt with interest. Kudos to the playwright for merging comedy, mystery and that goulish ending followed by a treat as we exited...listen carefully to the terrific sfx as you walk out of the theatre..GREAT! A delightful evening with a terrific cast and perfect right before Halloween!

standing ovation!

Great writing - strong acting - wonderful play. Even though it has dark elements this play is VERY FUNNY and very smartly written. Having some family challenges, like most of us, I found myself appreciating my family even more after seeing this thriller/who-done-it. Highly recommend it! Definitely a fun night out!

creepy fun

this show was so different from what I expected -- in a wonderful way! it has been years since I have seen a mystery thriller that is actually funny too. the lines and banter between the cast was non-stop - very biting and witty dialogue. the design: set, lights, sound were Broadway quality. this is a must see show if you are looking for pure entertainment.

Thriller's are difficult...but this one SHINES with smart dialogue and honest performances!

I thought this show was riveting from the moment you saw the set. The sound design also helped begin your journey into this new world. I thought the family dynamic of the characters were great, especially between the brother and sister. Their first scene was so honest and you really believed their connection to one another, but yet you felt that something lay just beneath the surface that wasnt right. This feeling didnt end until the last, and chilling, snapshot photo of our family. Creepy but in a good way! This is definitely worth going to. The playwright really makes the difficult genre of "thriller" look easy and the natural and quick and often hilarious dialogue keeps us, the audience, guessing in every moment. Kudos to this whole production who are STILL in previews. If it was as good as it was when I saw it...imagine it by opening. Bravo!

Thriller's are difficult...but this one SHINES with truth and great writing!

I think this play had a great cast, the directing was solid, and set was beautifully symbolic without hitting the audience over the head with it. The chilling tone of just walking into the theatre was a wonderful way to start the night. I think the family dynamic was pretty spot-on, especially between the brother and sister. Their first scene was great because you believed their connection, but knew something wasnt quite right. This continued to unravel and began our journey into this families life, especially their past. The dialogue whipped by, and the rhythm of it was so interesting and natural and dynamic, that it was hard to not hang on every word. The flow of the piece was nice and the final moments were verging on brilliant. Its still in previews, so I think this play is in an AMAZING place. Go see it. Its probably already improved tons, and it was fantastic when I saw it. Go go go. A thrilling night with a great plot, awesome set!

Fun, entertaining old school murder mystery!

RE:So much fun!

I randomly wandered into the McGinn/Cazale Theatre the other night and found this amazing show! I saw it listed on 20 @ 20 and took a chance and am so glad that I did! This piece is a throwback to the mystery thriller genre, but it is so fun and has a nice modern flair. The set and design elements are incredible and the writing is so fast and fun. The cast is eating it up as was the audience. I had a blast - check it out if you are on the UWS.
