Visionary composer/choreographer/performer Meredith Monk returns to BAM with the New York premiere of Impermanence -- a multimedia celebration of life and meditation on death. Performed by Monk and her ensemble of extraordinary singer-dancers and instrumentalists, Impermanence is a haunting evocation of the passage of time, expressed through music, song, video, and dance. A poetic distillation of the complexity of living and dying, the work surprises with unexpected flashes of tender and exuberant wit. Impermanence is a carthartic and redemptive journey of the spirit.
