If Wishes Were Horses is about Doug, a downsized Human Resources exec who needs a job. His wife Karen is a teacher who has been supporting him for a year. With one disappointment after another, Doug begins to unravel after Karen's Father has to move in with them. Using Phil Mickelson's tortured odyssey to the pinnacle of stardom as inspiration, Doug pulls himself up by the bootstraps and starts creating new business opportunities for himself...that no one supports.
