WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
City Center Encores! opens its 2002-2003 season with House of Flowers, starring Tonya Pinkins, Armelia McQueen, Maurice Hines, and Roscoe Lee Brown. Set on a tropical West Indies island, this musical tells the story of a trade war between two competing brothels. Harold Arlen and Truman Capote's score includes "Two Ladies in De Shade of De Banana Tree" and the ballads "A Sleepin' Bee" and "I Never Has Seen Snow".
