WHAT IS IT ABOUT?

The NY Times called The Actors Company Theatre's concert reading of David Storey's Home, "Sublime" and went onto to say, "TACT is making an excellent case for a full-scale revisiting of Home." Taking that note to heart, TACT will present a fully staged production of David Storey's award winning play, directed by Scott Alan Evans, featuring the original cast.

The play takes place on a sunny day in a picturesque park where two mild-mannered British gentlemen meet. Soon joined by two amiable women, they discuss their worldly-wise opinions about everything under the British sun, but something not immediately apparent lies behind their jokes, card games and jovial banter.

WHAT ARE CRITICS SAYING?

The simple charms of David Storey's 1970 play Home cannot be denied, and this revival by The Actors' Company Theatre (TACT) is thoroughly enchanting and superbly acted.

Home begins with the meeting of two elderly British gentlemen, Harry (Larry Keith) and Jack (Simon Jones). Their often inane conversation touches upon numerous subjects ranging from the weather, the day's news, various relatives, and abandoned career paths. But even as they speak, one gets the sense that there's something not quite right. The dialogue is full of non sequiturs, fragmented speech, and Pinteresque pauses.
