Vineyard Theatre presents, in association with New Georges, Jenny Schwartz's God's Ear, directed by Anne Kauffman.
God's Ear is a compelling and moving new play about a young couple struggling through their relationship after the loss of their child.
The production features original songs by Michael Friedman, with additional lyrics by Jenny Schwartz.
On Thursday, May 15 at 6:45PM, the Vineyard hosts THE PROGRAM for Jenny Schwartz's God's Ear -- a special FREE event featuring a pre-show discussion and cocktail party with critics David Cote and Helen Shaw and playwright/essayist Jeffrey Jones.

There are several beautiful, poignant moments in Jenny Schwartz's God's Ear, stylishly directed by Anne Kauffman at the Vineyard Theatre. Unfortunately, there are nearly as many forced, overly precious passages. The end result is an uneven production that nevertheless manages to be quietly affecting.
The play is a fragmented, poetic look at how young couple Mel (Christina Kirk) and Ted (Gibson Frazier) deal with the death of their son. She becomes increasingly incoherent, while he stays away from home as much as possible. Their daughter Lanie (played by adult actress Monique Vukovic) is also emotionally affected.
