WHAT IS IT ABOUT?

Rattlestick Playwrights Theater presents Finer Noble Gases by Adam Rapp. Directed by Michael Garces, this existential play, performed with live rock music, uses the chemical term "finer noble gases" (gases that do not readily attach to other elements to form a compound) to metaphorically describe the inert occupants of an East Village apartment. This play traces the self-destructive attraction to drugs that wreck the talent and ambition of a once vibrant group of rock musicians now gone to seed in their East Village hellhole.
"savage and mournful ... much more grand and metaphysical than just another mundane tale of arrested development." --NY Times
"Those looking for an adventurous and boundary-defying theatrical work
should definitely check out Adam Rapp's dark comedy about alienation, drug
addiction, paranoia, and arrested development" --TheaterMania
"Intoxicatingly fun to watch" --Variety
