In sixty minutes of beautifully-orchestrated circus-theatre chaos, seven young acrobat-adventurers defy a tsunami of unstable forces with optimism, dark humor and breathtaking physical skills. L'Immédiat is a tumultuous visual commentary on the uncertainty and mayhem of modern times. Created by the award-winning Camille Boitel, an original member of James Thierrée's Junebug Symphony Company, L'Immédiat was awarded the Prix Mimos in 2010.
In this critically-acclaimed, exciting new creation, circus, theater, and interactive elements are combined as contemporary circus performers Magnus Bjøru and Manu Tiger take their audience on a thrilling journey. Surrounded by stadium lighting with various contraptions dotting the stage, the performers' Velcro-suited bodies make contact and are cleaved apart with the recognizable rip, providing an unexpected delight. As the performers' interactions escalate, the idea of attachment is explored in its many forms. Ultimately, everything and everyone—including the audience—is attached.
The Minstrel Show Revisited ignites audiences with remarkable, razor-sharp choreography while engaging them in a parody of the infamous minstrel shows of a century ago. This reworking of Donald Byrd's Bessie Award-winning 1991 production takes a satirical look at the derogatory song and dance tradition of minstrelsy while utilizing new elements that reflect current race-related events.
This holiday season, the spectacular Cirque Mechanics (Boom Town, New Vic 2011) rolls into town with moxie The New York Times calls "exceptional, evocative, eye-catching, ear-catching and, to keep the list short, engrossingly entertaining!" In the steampunk-styled Pedal Punk, featuring a 20-foot-high, pedal-powered mechanical masterpiece, the powerful performers amaze with a heart-pounding pole drop, awesome aerial acts and high-flying tricks (on a trampoline!). With every spin of a sprocket and rattle of a wrench, the quirky cast of characters transform a bevy of bikes into an astounding assortment of acrobatic apparatus in this adrenaline-fueled circus for the whole family.
Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, & Sammy Davis Jr. return from the grave in A-Live Concert! Now back from the dead as crooning zombies, The boys sing their songs with new "undead" lyrics celebrating their deadly lifestyles. Featuring the hits, "Come Die With Me", "Get me to the Crypt on Time", "What kind of Ghoul Am I?" and many more!
