WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
One day, Edwina Spoonapple decides that she and her pals will put on a show. Edwina's special talent is giving advice, and she would do almost anything to be a part of the Kalamazoo Advice-a-palooza Festival. When a talent scout visits her hometown of Paw Paw, Michigan, Edwina -- assisted by a host of quirky friends and neighbors -- enthusiastically sings out her musical advice in hopes of finding her own special place in the spotlight.

Marcy Heisler and Zina Goldrich, authors of the cute kids musical Dear Edwina, now at the DR2, deserve to be high on the list of songwriters currently producing first-rate theater material, such as their Broadway-bound musical Ever After. Their invigorating songbook also includes one indisputable cabaret standard, "Taylor the Latte Boy" and a host of award-winning songs.
But their greatest success has been the musical Junie B. Jones, the TheatreworksUSA adaptation of the popular children's series -- and having this team connect in the children's arena is a good thing if they can snare the newest generation of potential theatergoers.
