WHAT IS IT ABOUT?

Annie and Nate have a baby who won't sleep. Claire and Luke are losing sleep over the decision to get married and start a family. In adjacent Brooklyn Heights apartments, Daniel Goldfarb's newest and wittiest look at love, sex, commitment and parenthood unfolds and no one will rest until the truth between each of these couples is spoken.

The two-person cast features Tony nominee Maria Dizzia and Greg Keller.

WHAT ARE CRITICS SAYING?

New Yorkers could be forgiven for thinking male playwrights have child-bearing uppermost on their mind nowadays. Jonathan Marc Sherman's recently opened Knickerbocker has 40-year-old Jerry repeatedly declare he isn't "ready" for fatherhood. In Daniel Goldfarb's two one-acts being presented at Manhattan Theatre Club under the title
Cradle and All -- directed with humor and sensitivity by Sam Buntrock -- we meet Luke, who's not "ready" either, and Nate, who is experiencing consequences from being "ready" and having had a child.

RE:Interesting play, but is the message?
Great acting and some very special moments, but what was the playwrights message? I left the theater feeling that the play was incomplete and a bit neurotic. What is it saying about marriage? Parenthood? Can we ever find happiness? Can love ever last? Yes, its a depressing play. Also the characters were so annoying that I stopped caring about them. In fact, Victoria, the crying baby, is the only character I truly cared about.
