WHAT IS IT ABOUT?

Conviction is a true story of faith and forbidden love in the shadow of the Spanish Inquisition.

In Franco-ruled Madrid, an Israeli scholar is detained for stealing a confidential Inquisition file. Contained within: the true confession of Spanish priest Andres Gonzalez (1446 - 1486), whose faith is tested when he finds himself in love with a Jewish woman.

RE:Powerfully moving
This was one of those powerfully intense plays that I know will stay with me for a long, long time. The play itself is so beautifully written that it transcends the plot to mean much more. It makes me want to read the text so I can savor it. Then the acting was just superb. All three actors had moments in which they shone, but of special note was Catharine Pilafas. The set was clever, using the small stage space well. Lights, music, costuming all added to one very powerful evening. Left me thinking and moved. Cant say better than that.
