WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
Capsule 33 concerns Milo, a resident of the famed Nakagin Capsule Tower in Tokyo, hailed as the world's first example of "recyclable housing," which is on the brink of being imploded (both in the play and in real life). Despite the impending destruction of the tower, Milo (along with his rubber ducky, Fumio) refuses to leave. We witness his final day in the tower and take a new look at architecture, human habitat, and a sustainable society.

Capsule 33
This is a wonderful, quirky, true story about a man,his duck and fate, on an international scale; cleverly woven together by Thaddeus Phillips in a memorable solo performance.

I must say that I, personally, found it rather tedious.

(Audience members are asked to pump small generators as they enter the theater to make sure the stage lights run). But, despite the cleverness and good intentions behind the show, Phillips' tale is so slight that it rarely seems to merit the painstaking work that goes into its telling.
Phillips' piece imagines that Kisho Kurokawa's Nakagin Capsule Tower in Tokyo, an actual building constructed in the early 1970s of prefabricated modules or "cap[...]
