Transgendered actress/singer/writer Alexandra Billings stars in the Off-Broadway debut of the Chicago production of Before I Disappear. From boyhood to womanhood, the show is a roller coaster journey to the center of Billings' world. Not recommended for the faint of heart, Billings' show packs dramatic punch and song while building bridges in the process. The show features book and songs by Billings, with lyrics by Chrisanne Blakenship. Mary Beidler Gearen directs. Wednesday, April 23 is a special benefit performance, with 20% of proceeds benefitting Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS.
