WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
This winter, Mayumana (my-'YOO-mah-nah), the internationally acclaimed rhythm-dance performance art phenomenon from Israel, makes its American premiere with its newest highenergy stage spectacle, Be. Created and directed by Eylon Nuphar and Boaz Berman, the show combines elements from various art disciplines based on music, movement, acting, dance and rhythm.
The multinational Off-Broadway premiere cast includes co-creator Boaz
Berman, Sharon Ben Naim (Israel), Vicente de Andres (Madrid), Michael Feigenbaum (Switzerland), Alba Bonal Garcia (Barcelona), Silvia Garcia de Ves (Palma de Mallorca), Ido Kagan (Israel), Yael Mahler (Israel), Eva Boucherite Martin (Spain), Taly Minkov (Mexico), Reut Rotem (Israel), Ido Stadler (Israel), Aka Jean Claude Thiemele (Ivory Coast) and Hila Yaffe (Israel).

Built in 1926, it was originally known as Tammany Hall. With its 499-seat audience and quality shows, this house is a great addition to the Off-Broadway scene.

Be, the first American offering by Israeli-based performance group Mayumana, is not traditional musical theater. It is, however, extremely musical, wildly theatrical, and great fun.
Part exuberantly percussive in the manner of Stomp, part creatively impressive in the manner of Blue Man Group: Tubes, and with just a dash of the whimsical in the manner of Cirque du Soleil thrown in for good measure, this new international import is a thrilling example of that ever-growing school of live entertainment that provides visual and physical spectacle for audiences that don't want to see more traditional theater.
