WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
The Vineyard Theatre will present the world-premiere of Nicky Silver's new play THE ALTRUISTS, directed by David Warren. A tale of murder and mayhem, this production takes a comic look at the dark side of people who profess to have a social conscience, but whose politics don't quite match their lives. The play concerns the antics of a group of eccentric New York do-gooders, and takes aim at leftists, fascists, racists, sexists, ageists, gay rights, civil rights, the NEA, the ERA, the NRA, ACT UP and nearly every other movement known to humankind.

Before shooting her narcissistic boyfriend, who has a yen for out-of-this-world sex and non-stop philandering, Sydney tries winning back his love by explaining she is needy, yes, but a good person. After all, her ch[...]
