"Jack shall have Jill; Naught shall go ill" promises Puck, the hobgoblin of the night, and how can things be anything but grand when Tony Award-winner Bebe Neuwirth plays Titania, the queen of the fairies, in Shakespeare's immortal comic romp that continues to enchant audiences of all ages.

Two-time Tony Award winner Bebe Neuwirth stars as Hippolyta/Titania and acclaimed film/television/stage star Christina Ricci appears as Hermia.

WHAT ARE CRITICS SAYING?


There are magical moments to be found throughout Tony Speciale's production of A Midsummer Night's Dream, at Classic Stage Company, even if the full power of the work's enchantment isn't as realized as it could be.

Shakespeare's comedy begins in Athens, where the city's ruler, Theseus (Anthony Heald), is preparing to wed the captured Amazon queen, Hippolyta (Bebe Neuwirth). However, Neuwirth's richly expressive non-verbal mannerisms clearly indicate that such a union is being made under duress.

As is the case in many productions of this play, the actors portraying Theseus and Hippolyta double as the fairy king and queen, Oberon and Titania, who are experiencing their own discord. Oberon [...]
