WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
Magical elements blend with the real world in A Blessing on the Moon, a new opera based on Joseph Skibell's masterful novel. The opera combines award winning composer Andy Teirstein's fiery, folk-infused new music with the rhythms of the internationally renowned and Grammy-nominated Polish musicians, The Warsaw Village Band. The "white voices" and traditional Polish instruments of the band will be joined onstage by an accomplished singing cast of Broadway and opera singers. The opera, an adaptation of Joseph Skibell's award-winning novel, will premiere in Vancouver a week after the show at Le Poisson Rouge.
