The Vermont theater company Northern Stage announced the five winners of its first-ever BOLD Theater Women's Leadership Circle, which will provide $1.25 million of support for Northern Stage and four other theaters run by female artistic directors during the 2018-19 season. Each theater will receive a $250,000 grant.

Among the winners was Lisa McNulty, the producing artistic director of New York's WP Theater, which announced that it will use this grant in part to elevate two artistic leaders and WP Lab alumnae to senior positions on its artistic staff: Tamilla Woodard as associate artistic director and Rachel Karpf as artistic producer.

The other four winners included Susan V. Booth of Atlanta's Alliance Theatre, Eileen Morris of Houston's The Ensemble Theatre, Sarah Rasmussen of Minneapolis's Jungle Theater, and BOLD founder Carol Dunne of Northern Stage.
